Jarell Quansah Transfer Battle Emerges as Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal Circle

Bayer Leverkusen defender is attracting growing interest ahead of summer 2027, with Real Madrid also monitoring his progress

Jarell Quansah could be at the centre of a major transfer battle in summer 2027, with Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal all interested in the Bayer Leverkusen defender. Real Madrid are also regularly scouting the England international, according to recent reports.

Liverpool Hold Key Advantage

The 23-year-old centre-back joined Leverkusen from Liverpool in July 2025 and has a contract with the Bundesliga club until 2030. Liverpool, however, retained a buy-back option worth €70 million, which can be activated until June 15, 2027. That clause could give the Reds a significant advantage if the competition for Quansah intensifies.

Quansah's rise in Germany explains why several European clubs are now monitoring him. During his first season at Leverkusen, he made 44 appearances, starting 40 of them, and finished with four goals and eight assists. His performances also helped earn him a place in England's squad for the 2026 World Cup.

Why Quansah Is Attracting Interest

The defender's versatility is another factor behind the growing interest. Quansah can operate at centre-back and has also been used at right-back, while his development since leaving Liverpool has strengthened his position on the international stage. Sky Sport reports that Real Madrid are monitoring him regularly, while Chelsea and Arsenal are also following the situation.

For now, there is no indication that a transfer has been agreed or that Quansah is certain to leave Leverkusen in 2027. The key date remains June 15, when Liverpool's €70 million buy-back option expires. Until then, the defender's performances and the level of interest from Europe's biggest clubs could determine whether the next chapter of his career takes him back to England or elsewhere.
