Arsenal could revive their interest in Chelsea winger Pedro Neto when the January transfer window opens, with Mikel Arteta understood to be keen on the Portugal international. Reports in August indicated that the Gunners had genuine interest in the 26-year-old, although there was no indication of a formal bid at that stage. Chelsea’s asking price has also been reported at different levels, meaning the exact figure required to prise Neto away from Stamford Bridge remains unclear.

Neto has continued to play a key role at Chelsea
Neto arrived from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2024 and has established himself as an important attacking option in west London. The winger enjoyed his most productive Chelsea season in 2025/26, making 52 appearances in all competitions and recording 10 goals and 10 assists. His 10 assists were the highest total at the club during the campaign.
The Portuguese has also started the new campaign strongly. He scored in Chelsea’s 4-3 Premier League victory over Brighton on August 30, adding another attacking contribution under new manager Xabi Alonso. Neto has already made two Premier League appearances this season, scoring once, according to Opta’s latest figures.
Arsenal face a difficult negotiation
Any January move would not be straightforward. Chelsea handed Neto a contract running until June 2031, giving the club considerable leverage in negotiations. Reports in August suggested Chelsea could demand as much as £100 million, although other reports placed their valuation considerably lower. That uncertainty makes a €70–80 million figure difficult to treat as an established asking price at this stage.
For Arsenal, Neto would offer another proven Premier League winger capable of playing from either flank and contributing goals and assists. However, the Gunners would have to convince Chelsea to sell a player who is still being used regularly, while also deciding whether the financial package makes sense. For now, the interest is credible, but a January deal remains far from certain.
