Filipe Luís has made history at Monaco after guiding the club to a remarkable five wins from five competitive matches. The latest came in dramatic fashion on Friday night, as Monaco came from behind to beat Paris Saint-Germain 2–1 at the Parc des Princes and move top of Ligue 1 with a perfect nine points from three games.

A perfect start in European football
The victory over PSG completed an impressive opening run for Filipe Luís. Monaco had already beaten Le Havre and Marseille in Ligue 1, while two wins over Górnik Zabrze secured their place in the Conference League group stage. Across those five matches, Monaco have scored 12 goals and conceded only five.
The PSG result was particularly significant because it was Filipe Luís' first major test since moving to Europe for his first senior coaching job outside Brazil. The 41-year-old arrived at Monaco in July after a highly successful spell at Flamengo, where he won five major trophies and was named South American Coach of the Year in 2025.
Filipe Luís sets a new Monaco record
His perfect start has now placed him in the club's history books. No previous Monaco coach had won each of his first five competitive matches in charge, making Filipe Luís the first to achieve the feat. The win in Paris also earned him praise from PSG boss Luis Enrique, who had already spoken positively about the Brazilian's approach before the match.
Monaco will now look to build on that momentum when they return to Ligue 1 action against Strasbourg on September 12. For Filipe Luís, however, the opening chapter of his European coaching career could hardly have gone better: five games, five wins and a place in Monaco's record books.
