Chelsea are planning to send Mykhailo Mudryk on loan to Strasbourg this summer after the winger became eligible to play again following the resolution of his doping case. According to recent reports, the Blues prefer a temporary move to their sister club rather than allowing the 25-year-old to join another Premier League side as he looks to regain match fitness and confidence.

Strasbourg seen as the ideal destination
Mudryk has rejoined Chelsea's squad after serving an 18-month absence from competitive football. While Enzo Maresca's side will assess him during pre-season, Strasbourg are viewed as the most suitable environment for the Ukraine international to play regularly under the BlueCo multi-club model. Club-to-club discussions are expected if Chelsea decide not to keep him in the first-team squad.
Chelsea focus on rebuilding Mudryk's career
Before his suspension, Mudryk made 15 appearances for Chelsea during the 2024/25 season, scoring three goals and providing five assists across all competitions. The former Shakhtar Donetsk winger remains under a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge, and Chelsea still believe he has the talent to revive his career after an extended period away from professional football.
Although no final decision has been announced, a loan to Strasbourg is currently the preferred solution. Chelsea are expected to continue evaluating Mudryk during pre-season before confirming whether the Ukrainian will spend the 2026/27 campaign in Ligue 1 or fight for a place in the Blues' squad.
