Piccoli is now expected to travel for his medical and contract signing, with agent Alessandro Lucci playing a key role in completing the move.

Piccoli looks for a fresh start

The 25-year-old Italian centre-forward joined Fiorentina from Cagliari in August 2025. His first season in Florence produced 44 appearances across competitions, with nine goals and two assists, according to available statistical data. In Serie A specifically, he made 32 appearances, scoring four goals and providing one assist.

Piccoli's previous campaign at Cagliari was more productive in the league. He scored 10 goals and registered one assist in 37 Serie A appearances during the 2024/25 season, helping establish himself as a regular attacking option before his move to Fiorentina.

Bologna complete their attacking move

The transfer comes as Bologna look to reshape their attacking options ahead of the new season. Piccoli's physical profile and experience in Serie A give the club another centre-forward option, while the guaranteed €18m purchase commitment means Fiorentina will receive a substantial fee once the conditions of the deal are completed.

The move is now at the final practical stage, with Piccoli due to undergo his medical before signing his Bologna contract. The agreement follows negotiations involving Lucci and represents a significant investment in the 25-year-old striker, who will now have the opportunity to revive the form he showed during his spell at Cagliari.
