AS Roma have reached a full agreement with Wolfsburg to sign Greek defender Konstantinos Koulierakis after completing negotiations on all fronts

AS Roma have completed the signing of Konstantinos Koulierakis from Wolfsburg in a deal worth around €15 million, with the clubs reaching a full agreement and the player already accepting personal terms. According to Fabrizio Romano's "here we go", the 22-year-old centre-back is set to become Roma's latest addition as Gian Piero Gasperini continues reshaping the squad.

Why Roma moved for Koulierakis

Roma identified Koulierakis as one of their priority defensive targets thanks to his composure on the ball, aerial strength and ability to play on the left side of central defence. The Greece international made 35 appearances for Wolfsburg across all competitions last season, scoring four goals and providing one assist, establishing himself as one of the Bundesliga's most promising young defenders.

A long-term investment for Gasperini

The €15 million fee is viewed as excellent value for a player who has already accumulated significant experience in Germany and with the Greek national team despite being only 22. Roma believe Koulierakis has the technical qualities required to fit Gasperini's high-intensity system, particularly his progressive passing and comfort playing out from the back.

With both the club-to-club agreement and personal terms now in place, only the final formalities remain before the defender is officially unveiled as a Roma player. The Giallorossi expect Koulierakis to strengthen their back line immediately while developing into a key figure for the club over the coming seasons.
