Nottingham Forest are in advanced negotiations to sign Sporting CP defender Ousmane Diomandé as they look to strengthen their backline ahead of the new season. Talks are ongoing between both clubs, while discussions with the player's representatives are also progressing.
Forest step up pursuit of Diomandé
The 21-year-old Ivory Coast international has emerged as one of Nottingham Forest's top defensive targets. According to reports, negotiations are underway on multiple fronts as the Premier League side work to secure an agreement with Sporting and finalize personal terms with the centre-back.
Diomandé joined Sporting from Danish side FC Midtjylland in January 2023 for around €7.5 million and has since established himself as one of the Portuguese club's key defenders. His performances in the Primeira Liga and European competitions have attracted interest from several clubs across Europe.
Sporting face growing interest in star defender
Sporting are aware of the increasing demand for Diomandé but remain in negotiations with Nottingham Forest as talks continue. The Ivorian defender is under a long-term contract and is regarded as one of the club's most valuable assets.
