Olympique Lyonnais are in the final stages of completing a deal for Juventus striker Loïs Openda. The proposed transfer is expected to be a paid loan with an option to buy, although the two clubs are still negotiating the final value of the purchase clause. If personal terms are agreed with the 26-year-old Belgium international, a full agreement is expected at the beginning of next week. According to reports, Lyon will also cover only a minor portion of Openda's salary during the loan spell.

Final details remain before agreement
Talks between Lyon and Juventus have accelerated in recent days, with both clubs now working through the final contractual details. The structure of the deal has largely been agreed, leaving the amount of the buy option as the main outstanding issue before the transfer can be completed.
Openda joined Juventus from RB Leipzig in 2025 but endured a difficult first campaign in Turin. The Belgian forward made 32 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals without registering an assist, struggling to establish himself as a regular starter.
Lyon hope to revive Belgian striker
Despite his disappointing spell in Serie A, Openda remains highly regarded after his prolific years at RB Leipzig and RC Lens. Lyon believe the striker's pace, movement and finishing ability make him an ideal addition to their attacking options as they prepare for the new season.
If the remaining details are resolved and the player accepts Lyon's proposal, Openda is expected to complete the move early next week, giving the Ligue 1 side another experienced attacking option ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
